Ran into everything but the pace car tonight – jumped the cushion in my heat (remember this for later) to get us a bad start for the feature.
At the beginning we passed some cars and were inside the top 5 working on 4th, when I over cooked it in the low side of 1. I saved the car but the slide took so long they threw the caution. Then later on we actually did loop it trying to send it up the inside for last. Not my proudest moment. But to cap it all off after the following restart we jumped the cushion (that’s right, a second time in one night!), and I went from running last, to last with a 7 second gap to the next car.
But the car was quick, and it clawed back all the time I lost driving it over the edge of the track. Lap times say we certainly could have been battling with the top 3. Too bad I already ruined my chances by a few rookie mistakes.
All in all, an embarrassment of a night I’m happy to put behind me. The car can do it, just up to me now.
Maybe I need to fire up the simulator and practice my decision making.
