Consistency
The word consistency is important when discussing any sort of statistics. I’ve always known that winning is one thing, doing it again is something else, but do it three times and you’re consistent. It’s what sets champions apart from the lucky. It can define a year. Look at Ryan Newman, who in 2014 made it to the final round and finished second in points. He had zero wins, but enough top five finishes to set him apart from the field and earn him a spot among the top four drivers on the year.
I start with this description of consistency, because it seems that our season is off to a consistent start. It’s a welcome change. The car is handling very well. We are making minor changes, and they are solving the problems we come across. For the past three races, I’ve run lap times that are close to the leaders, and I have been finishing in or near the top five. I think our initial setup this year is far more stable than years of the past. It’s a welcome ch
ange.
Too often in our sport we look ahead to what is next. It’s important to do, but it’s also important to live in the moment and enjoy what you have. That time for me is now. We have been enjoying finishes that are all around better than we have in the past. Our work load during the week is minimal. No bent panels, and for that I am thankful.
For June, we will continue to race at Clinton County Motor Speedway with the occasional trip elsewhere. It’s likely we will be
seen at Susquehanna Speedway in the near future.
For now, check out my vlogs over the past few weeks.
