Joe Lusk ran his first race this season at Clinton County Motor Speedway this Friday Night. In the heat race, Joe finished 1st after the leader had a mechanical failure while Joe was close in tow. The feature race started out with Joe in the 4th position after the field invert.
At the drop of the green flag Joe moved up on the outside to third, but then slipped back coming out of turn 4 to fifth place. Joe worked his way up afterwords to get to third and ran in third place for the rest of the race. On the final lap, however, Joe spun out in turns 1 and 2 as he attempted to get second place. “I really wanted it, I guess a little too much” Joe said after the race.
All in all for the first night out Joe and team feel good about their chances this season. To have a top three car the first time out was a statement about the adaptability of the driver and team.
